  • The entire situation surrounding Rashad Evans medical issues is a very concerning one. He was first pulled from the historic, blockbuster UFC 205 card in New York City. This occurred during fight week due to some medical testing. After this occurred, Evans led everyone to believe that he had since re-tested and the results were fine.
That, however, does not appear to be the case. Earlier this week, Evans was again pulled from another event, UFC 206, by the Ontario Athletic Commission. They also will not sanction Evans to fight. The man who was supposed to be his opponent in both of these fights, Tim Kennedy, has stated that he believes that it is due to some testing that shows that the Rashad Evans medical issues might have revealed some brain damage.
Evans camp, on the other hand, is blaming the commissions in both instances. After the UFC 205 cancellation, they pointed the finger at the New York State Athletic Commission having a “no-tolerance” policy. With the Ontario Commission, they are holding the stance that this commission is very difficult to work with.
It is as clear as day that there is something medically wrong with Rashad. He needs to have the right people in his camp, concerned about his health and not a paycheck. Octagon 24/7 with continue to be following the Rashad Evans Medical saga.Rashad Evans Medical
  • On the Conor McGregor front, several things have been entertained this week. His agent has stated that he is willing to entertain a WWE offer. I am hoping that this means that he is willing to entertain an offer to appear at Wrestlemania, as opposed to an offer to become a professional wrestler full-time. That is certainly where I could see Conor land once his UFC career is over. I say, get his next big fight booked in the Octagon, allow him to appear on Wrestlemania on April 2nd, 2017 and use that stage to promote Conor’s next fight. Like, a part of the deal (for the UFC to agree to this, they have to receive something in return) is a 30-60 second promotional clip for UFC 212 (or whatever number we are at at that point). Conor gets a nice one-off payday, the UFC gets a great promotional spot to a great crossover audience and WWE gets its foot in the door of the Conor McGregor sweepstakes. Sounds like a win-win-win to me!
  • Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager told Ariel Helwani that he was offered $5 million to fight for a Russian MMA promotion. In similar news, Octagon 24/7 has some amazing land just off the coast of The Bahamas. This previously undiscovered land is extremely exotic and has been fully stocked with bikini clad single women, who were previously offered were offered and declined modeling gigs. This land is available to the highest bidder.Rashad Evans Medical
  • Ronda Rousey. What to make of her. The rumors are swirling that after her appearance at UFC 205, where it appeared that she angrily stormed off of the stage, she had to be consoled backstage at Madison Square Garden. What is Rhonda Rousey so angry about? It seems as though the difficulty that is Ronda is rearing its head. I understand that Ronda has a lot of pressure on her, but her temperament and ability to handle the issues and questions that arise from the media and the public is very odd. There is a long history of her not reacting well to being asked certain questions and handle certain inquiries. Take Rogan being told to ask Ronda after a win about the potential of filling in on a short notice. This was made into a very big deal when Ronda could have simply taken the question and said, “you know, I am not really interested in fighting that soon”. But for some reason, a question like that to her raises such a level of anxiety, and it is known, because Dana White immediately ran in to diffuse the situation.
Then you have her PR team accepting an interview and when the international reporting team shows up, they are told not to ask Ronda any questions about fighting or she will walk out! She’s a FIGHTER!
I think it is time for Ronda’s team to get her to a doctor. High anxiety is not uncommon and very treatable. She would certainly, by all appearances, benefit from getting that under control.
